Sony Playstation 3
Sony Playstation 3
The Sony Playstation 3 Entertainment system has little in common with the Nintendo Wii. Most casual gamers stay away from this Sony Console for multiple reasons, most notably the cost. The Playstation 3 has notoriously held the highest price tag since its retail debut. This is however, for good reason. This console has Blu Ray Capability and allows the users to surf the Internet utilizing their TV just like a normal computer. One downside to this console is the fact that most titles must be partially installed into the hard drive in order to be played. This reduces load times, but also reduces memory.
The online interaction of the Playstation 3 in slightly more limited than the Xbox 360. There is online voice chat, but it is limited solely to individuals and friends that are playing the same games you are playing. The Sony online community servers are also international, so often times, there will be one or two players who may not speak the same language as the player. This may deter some of the more competitive players who relish in the “trash talking” that is prominent in most online games
today.
The Sony Playstations online community, named the Sony Playstation Network is less user friendly than either of the competition’s online networks, however, the Playstation Network and Nintendo Wii provide free online gaming unlike their Microsoft counter part, which charges a daily fee. If you are looking for a more personal gaming experience and want a true “Entertainment System” for an older crowd. The Sony Playstation 3 is what you should consider purchasing . However, the
Playstation Move control has provided an experience similar to the Nintedo Wii’s motion controller, appealing to the younger demographic as well, but I would not recommend this console if you are seeking entertainment solely for young children. It has a retail price of $300 dollars.
